Remember the following about Bharat.

  • He comes from a troubled family. People with rich background (abundance mindset) are positive and those with poor background are negative. It takes confidence to dig into codebase. It will take him several years to have any confidence with the low confidence. Have patience with him.
  • He has rights to be angry with me. I gave him a big lecture , when i should have been understanding. Remember , how I did not like Anton telling me to make sure i fill hours when i was actually there for internship– Which was wrong of me , but he was respectful and just said that and did not lecture.
  • He is probably in the same situation as i was in Albany. New city and stressed about job.
  • I do not have any right to micro-manage what he is doing – Like i was bothered with him not studying and playing badminton after i offered him a job.
  • It took me several years , and a very positive current work environment to be at the productive level where i am. I am still nowhere near Cliff’s level but he is still respectful. Never questioned me even once , how much time it will take me.
  • Everyone is different – has different capability.
  • Giving him money for a year , is like a charity. It might make him realize there is lot of wealth in the world , and might encourage him to go after it.
  • Expect him to keep falling sick – Most people in Sehore fall sick , and its OK there to say i am sick.
  • Have zero ego , and expect nothing.
  • Part of me getting mad ( in the past) is because he is not responding , or not available. If i want to loose ego , i have to not get mad at him.

    Remember this about the next hire.
    We want to have to ability to check performance in a month. In case of fresher check his attitude towards the opportunity. Is he grateful , and willing to work hard.
