While he likes to do things his way and finish to perfection, he is not someone you can point the small things/ improvements. He would ignore them.
There are plenty of people better than him, that you can hire , overseas. Will cost less , will be more responsive.\
Remember everything happens for the best. He probably wasn’t comfortable spending extra time after hours and also doesn’t enjoy that technology so much.
